ALL IN THE FAMILY

The vineyard is a major part of our lives. While the estate was originally started in 1995 under the name Gemini Vineyards by the Hatfield family, we have maintained the family-owned and operated tradition while also expanding the estate to what it is today. Our family traditions are a blend of Australian and American, and this blend is also fostered through the vineyard management practices we use.

The inspiration behind our work is our twin boys, Raymond and Samuel. When we first looked at the property and learned of its name, there was an instant connection, as Gemini is the sign for twins. Our hope is to cultivate healthy, happy, and hardworking kids, and we are in the perfect spot to do so.

If you drive by on a sunny day, you will likely see mom and dad leaf-pulling with the vineyard manager, and two littles driving around on miniature John Deere tractors. You may even get a tip of the hat sent your way!  

We owe much of our first few years’ success to our families and friends who have helped out in the vineyard. Our Australian family spends their vacation time doing tie-downs in the midst of winter. Our cousins help with harvest and infrastructure planning. Extended family and friends are out in the heat, coaxing the vines towards harvest. As for our parents, well, we simply couldn’t have begun this adventure without them.
