WINEMAKING

Winemaking for us is as much about our values as it is about making great wine. Obviously the key ingredient is great fruit which we source from our estate where they are grown sustainably. Our grapes are harvested by family and friends and our wine maker is not only a great friend but also a partner. All three enable us to make small batch bottlings that seek to reflect the season and terroir of the Gemini Estate.

David Paige, who is our winemaker and mentor, has over 30 years of experience making great wine. During his time in Oregon he has perfected his skills and has consistently made wines scoring 90+. A winemaker since the ’80s, Paige graduated from UC Davis in 1989, then spent the ’90s at Cloninger Cellars and Jekel Vineyards in California. He moved to Oregon in 2001 and joined Adelsheim Vineyard, where he worked until 2018 alongside Oregon wine pioneer David Adelsheim. Currently, Dave owns and directs wine making of his own label (David Paige Wines) producing exquisite Oregon wines. Dave’s vision aligns with our own for making wines that are true to their origins and vineyard.
